The City of Victor is issuing a scam warning based on guidance from the Center for Internet Security. Threat actors have been impersonating local and county planning and zoning departments in an attempt to fraudulently collect land use application fees. The City of Victor is aware of multiple scam attempts targeting applicants. These scams typically involve sending a fake invoice that instructs the applicant to submit payment via wire transfer. An example of this fraudulent invoice is provided for reference.
